The City Council of Totana, through the Youth Council will keep the youth Psychosexual Consultancy, which offers a customer support service and personalized guidance (either individually or in groups) on issues related to sexuality and emotions, and a training program for Secondary Education Centres and associations and groups which are particularly linked to the youth level.
The councilman of Youth, Josefa María Sánchez Méndez, pointed out that this is a service that has provided for several years in the municipality, as deemed necessary to continue to maintain this service, given the high demand, as during the past year has served more than 600 local youths.
At the same time, has praised the work of the psychologist in charge of the service, and thanked him for his efficiency and professionalism demonstrated in this field, development of service-related activities during 2009.
This service is to promote the personal, social and cultural rights of people seeking advice through training programs offered from the psychosexual counseling, providing information and education service which aims to analyze and make decisions and resolutions in the adolescent stage.
These programs are designed to provide targeted youth, the analysis of reality and personal implications and improve interpersonal communication, facilitating the psychosexual maturation.
Are aimed at pupils of Secondary Education of Schools of Totana, as well as their associations in the municipality who work with youth.
Topics addressed include self-esteem and body image, social skills and improving communication and affective-sexual education, with a total of 320 youth who have benefited from this program.
The public service, has been paid for every Wednesday and last Thursday of each month at evening, in the Socio-Cultural Center "The Jail", and the number of people served from 239 last year.
This personalized service, which is free, will run for this year, and young people between 12 and 35 who require to use it, please contact the Department of Youth in Socio-Cultural Center "La Prison" in time Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 and Monday and Wednesday from 17:00 to 20:00, to request an appointment.
