The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports has awarded the Department of Culture for a grant amounting to 12,814 euros, which will go towards the purchase of library collections to improve the service provided by the Public Library of Totana, located in the center Sociocultural " Jail. "
In this regard, the Councillor for Culture, Ana Belén García, welcomed the grant, as "the improvement of the library remains an inescapable priority for the future reflects the commitment that the administration has acquired and implies a clear conscience the need to continue to correct deficiencies which may suffer. In this regard, stressed the need for "all age groups must find material relevant to their needs" and stated that the collections and services have to include all types of appropriate media and modern technologies as traditional materials and are fundamental to its high quality and relevance to local needs and conditions.
The public library needs a constant influx of new and old material out so that they remain important to the community and have an acceptable level now, so "rates are most significant acquisitions the size of funds" said the mayor.
The 12,800 euros of the grant is allocated for the purchase of library materials in the Paretón (1,000 euros) and 2,800 euros will go to magazines and newspapers.
Also, 1,500 euros will be invested in audiovisual material, 3,000 new, 1,500 in child, 500 euros and 2,500 cultural background in various fields.
