Municipal Services Early Care and Occupational Center will be financed by the Instituto Murciano Social Action (IMAS), through an agreement with the Autonomous Community, will provide a total of 166,900 euros for the maintenance of the municipal center in 2008.
Both centers, with different objectives and targets are important pillars of social welfare policy of the City of Totana.
In the first case, the Center for Child Development and Early Totana City Council will receive a total of 80,460 euros for financing.
According to informed sources in the center during the first half of 2008 professionals have attended directly to 90 children (aged 0 to 6 years), it presented some sort of difficulty in their development, or have the possibility of some delay maturation for various reasons (prematurity, among others).
For this we have worked with these boys in the prevention and stimulation of different areas according to their needs: motor, language, cognitive, social and family.
Occupational Center also has attended this year about 34 people with intellectual disabilities, between 18 and 60 years, which are offered services as an occupational and socio-adapted to the needs of each user.
Among the programs are: carpentry, pottery class (introduction to computer science, social skills, daily living skills, basic instrumental skills, etc..), Physical activity and sport as well as programs to promote personal autonomy and independence .
For this project will receive a total of 86,440 euros.
