December 25 - Nativity of the Lord
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The Word was in the beginning with God.
Through the Word became everything, and without him was made nothing that has been done.
In the Word was life, and the life was the light of men.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome ....
The Word was the true light that enlightens every man.
The wine world, and the world was;
the world was made through him, and the world did not know.
He came to his house, and his did not.
But to all who received him, he gave power to become children of God, if you believe in his name.
These are not born of blood, nor of carnal love or human love, but God's.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we saw his glory. Glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth (John 1: 1-18).
