Last days 17, 18 and April 19, 2015, were held in (Murcia) the "First Conference on Alternative Education" organized by the "Diversi-on Leisure and diversity 'Association
On Friday 17, the kick-off of this conference with a screening of the documentary "Teach me but nice" was given, and after viewing the same was followed by a symposium on education.
The symposium, as often happens in many of the talks (for now) where practitioners of traditional school are professional alternative education began with the typical posts found to give the impression that there is a traditional education and alternative education .
Throughout the conference, this preconception and misconception soon cut short.
Those present soon came to the conclusion that we must stop confrontations of adults aged adults, and focus more on the child / a as the main protagonist of education.
Most of those present, agreed that these forums should serve mainly to talk about education, and from there, extract ideas, new views and concepts ... always aimed at better educational services for children / as.
On Saturday 18 and Sunday 19, were held Montessori seminars.
Over the course of two days, the life and work of Maria Montessori was exposed;
Basic principles of the method;
The important triangle child-friendly ready-adult;
The absorbent mind and sensitive periods, ... and so were reaching the four areas that make up a prepared environment such as: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language and Mathematics.
Where in addition to explaining what each Montessori materials presentations were made.
The seminars were intense, perhaps more than expected.
Trying to explain in a few hours what a philosophy of life, a real personal transformation, was a bit more complex than expected.
Montessori is not that "little key" that will take the adult no problem if one / a does not because a real personal transformation occurs.
We are from well tots, used and taught to be dependent on others, to do what others tell us we have to do without their own initiative.
They are consequences of education received.
And as noted, not only during the course of this seminar, we want someone to tell us what are the coordinates to and from our comfort zone, without any personal transformation occurs, get that ideal school and students we previously made about how things should be instead of thinking about how they really are.
Satisfaechos, a lot.
Eduardo Galeano said that "Many small people in small places, doing small things, you can change the world."
And we feel that this is a huge truth.
For three days together we have achieved something very nice, talk about education.
And what at first was the idea of a little "little people", three days after they were over 200 people that were sharing the same concerns, or other, but always on education, child benefit and with the aim of build a better world.
During these three days, has become more important and harder the Montessori idea that a child raised in peace, be who creates peace in the world.
We thank all participants, which could ye not attend on this occasion and you have not been able to do for lack of space, for your interest, closeness, for that want to share experiences from the public school (of course you can !!!).
Montessori and common sense go together.
Nothing and nobody can impersonate one.
If you want, you can.
The transformation of society begins at home.
Because societies people doing just that compose them, and if one changes, society changes.
