The argárico site of "La Bastida" becomes one of the main tourist and cultural attractions of the Region of Murcia, through the combined efforts of local, state and Central governments and educational institutions and investment of over 3.5 million euros since 2009.
The resort has opened its doors today officially with the opening of the hand of the Secretary of State for Tourism, Isabel Borrego, Minister of Culture and Universities, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez.
Due to its characteristics, this archaeological park was already listed as one of the most important sites in Europe, the time of the beginning of the Bronze Age, after the discovery of the wall, "has become a unique site in Spain and Europe ", as explained by the Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez.
During the time of excavation more than 15,000 people have been able to discover the research that the Autonomous University of Barcelona has developed on the site, but "it was time to go a step further and offer visitors a unique experience by visiting the site , for which we have undertaken works of adaptation, rehabilitation and specific signaling to provide a new image that responds to the great finds here found ".

The people of La Bastida belonged to the society of El Algar, which ran between 2200 and 1500 BC.
Archeological excavations in spring-summer 2012 at the archaeological site of La Bastida brought to light an imposing fortification system unique in his time.
