Councilman Agriculture and Water, Diego Munoz, presented the call for aid for the installation of young farmers and the modernization of farms by value of 35,405,000 euros, financed by 75 percent by the European Union and the term of application will be open until September 29, 2012 and they may stick totaneros farmers.
Of the more than 35 million euros of aid provided 24.2 will go to the modernization of farms and 11.2 to the first installation of young farmers.
This amount equals the entire budget included in the Rural Development Programme for these measures.
Agriculture councilor explained that this type of aid is to increase competitiveness, create jobs, generate wealth, improve product quality and increase exports.
Thus, in this period, sources with the Ministry of Agriculture in the Region of Murcia is expected to incorporate 300 young people, modernize 500 farms generate 800 direct jobs and 2,200 indirect, improve 1,000 acres of irrigation, construction and modernization 500,000 square meters of greenhouses, purchase an additional 100 tractors and machinery, modernize 100 hectares of citrus orchards and perform 50 new varieties and farm buildings for farm improvement.
Totanero The mayor explained that the goals of modernization can achieve a subsidy to 300,000 € per farm if the owner is an individual and if cooperative society or multiplying this amount by the number of members to a maximum of four.

The councilor explained that for the recovery of aid granted, the beneficiary shall submit a single application fee until 15 September of the year for which the grant was awarded.
Payment of aid shall be effected once made and justified eligible activities.
It has also indicated that the requirements to be a beneficiary of the aid for modernization are to be owner of a farm located in 50% of its area in the Region of Murcia; have registered and updated its operation in the Register of farms in the Region of Murcia, and present a plan to improve its operation.
