The Local Government Board has recently approved the proposal of the Councilor for Education, Eulalia Moreno, by which agrees to sign the agreement with the University of Murcia (UMU) to assist in the training of students totaneros in foreign universities for a total amount of 2,220 euros during the 2017/18 academic year.
The totanero Consistory has been collaborating for years with the UMU in the training of Totana students in foreign universities, so that, continuing in this line, it is necessary to approve an agreement that regulates this collaboration with the provision of economic aid complementary to the general grants calls to improve the study conditions of young people who travel to foreign universities.
The purpose of this agreement is to promote the training of students of the municipality in foreign universities with the provision of financial aid to university students of Totana, complementary to the general calls for scholarships, aimed at improving their study conditions.
Once the name of the students of the municipality who are going to participate in the exchange is known, the City Council of Totana will collaborate with this economic amount, as an aid to the expenses of the students' stay in the university where they are going to study.
Thus, the City Council will provide an economic amount that will be reviewed each academic year, for each student selected per month of stay abroad, so that for the academic year 2017/2018 is set at 30 euros each month during their stay.
The University of Murcia, once the selection of students has been made, in accordance with the norms established in the mobility programs, will communicate to the Totanero City Council the number and the time of their stay in the foreign universities.
