Totana City Council and the Federation of Peñas del Carnaval of this town will sign an agreement amounting to 7,200 euros to assist in the organization of the program of activities of the Carnival'2018, which has already been approved by the Local Government Board at the proposal of the Department of Culture.
The activities will take place from January 20 to February 18.
For more than thirty years many activities related to the celebration of Carnival have been carried out in Totana, although it has been in recent times, after the creation of the Federation of Peñas de Carnaval in this municipality, when this event has substantially improved with the increase in citizen participation as well as the program of activities that takes place.
Around twenty rocks make up the Federation of Peñas de Carnaval de Totana, which are undoubtedly the "alma mater" of this festival;
and that is why, the Department of Culture considers, therefore, necessary collaboration with the Federation of Peñas for the organization of the program of activities planned for this year 2018.
This aid will be confirmed through the signing of an agreement signed by the mayor, Andrés García, and the president of the Peñas del Carnaval Federation, Antonio García Martínez.
In addition, the Consistory agrees to assign the Municipal Auditorium "Marcos Ortiz" to carry out various activities included in the program, specifically the use of the stage, dressing rooms and toilets, from January 27 to February 18;
facilitate the expansion of power supply in said infrastructure;
provide technical support and collaborate in the promotion and publicity of the activities and with the edition of the program of activities.
For its part, the Federation agrees to collaborate in the cleaning of the Auditorium, except the area where the tent is installed;
perform as many steps as necessary for the normal development of the aforementioned activities, comply with current legislation in all acts organized or involved;
and sign a civil liability insurance for those scheduled.
