The Department of Culture is organizing this year the Fourth Literary Contest "Morerica Galán" within the activities of the Day of the Book, through the Municipal Library "Mateo García", and whose subject is on "Dialogue", as explained during the presentation the mayor of the branch, Eulalia Moreno.
The contest is convened in the modalities of story and poetry, respectively: story for students of 4th, 5th and 6th grade of Primary Education 1st and 2nd of ESO (three pages maximum);
and poetry for school children of 4th, 5th and 6th grade of Primary Education 1st and 2nd of ESO, with an extension of ten verses (lines) as a minimum and thirty as maximum.
The deadline for submission of papers will be before Friday, March 23, 2018 at the Municipal Library "Mateo García", located in the Sociocultural Center "La Cárcel".
The jury will be composed of the Councilor for Culture, the own Morerica Galán, the poet Katy Parra and librarian staff;
and the absence of spelling mistakes, the correct punctuation, the creativity and originality of the texts will be valued.
In addition, he informed that there will be three prizes for Primary and three other prizes for Secondary, in each category, which will be school materials bonuses.
The prizes will be given around the activities of the Week of the Book Day.
The councilor recalled that the works will be presented without putting the name of the author;
and inside the envelope containing the work, another smaller envelope will be included, closed with the contestant's information (name and surnames, age, phone number, course and educational center from which he participates).
The mayor of Culture thanked Morerica Galán for maintaining this initiative and encouraged reading and writing lovers to participate in this contest, which aims to raise motivation and promote literary values ​​and promote written language as a medium of creation and communication.
