The City of Totana has approved to sign a collaboration agreement with the Federation of Soccer of the Region of Murcia for the provision of defibrillators in various sports infrastructure in this municipality.
The agreement aims to establish the basis for the donation to the Consistory totanero defibrillators for football fields and municipal pavilions where they play the football hall of the municipality that do not yet have them.
Under this agreement, the Federation will deliver the equipment and defibrillator booths to be installed in the football fields of the "Valverde Reina" Sports City, El Paretón "Guadalentín" Sports Center and "Juan Cayuela" , As well as the pavilions of the municipal sports center "6 de diciembre", "Manolo Ibáñez" and Sala Escolar of this locality.
For its part, the Consistory totanero is committed to the installation of donated equipment in the soccer fields and pavilions indicated, as well as ensure proper use and maintenance of the same once installed in municipal facilities.
Technological advances have allowed the development of semiautomatic external defibrillators (DESA) that make the application of defibrillation simple and safe by authorized non-medical personnel through the execution of a specific training program properly accredited.
This agreement subscribes to the need to implement cardioprotected areas that are equipped with defibrillators, appropriately trained people and other elements to act quickly against sudden cardiac arrest as the first intervener until the arrival of emergency services.
