The Totana Civil Protection Volunteer Association has recently reinforced its Drone Unit with four new pilots who come to expand the human resources of this specialized group, which was one of the first to form these volunteer organizations in the Region of Murcia.

.This specialized unit was created in 2018, with its first pilot being the volunteer Sebastián Serrano, who has led and participated in several searches and rescues of people in the municipality of Totana and outside it.Among the most relevant actions he highlighted the displacement that was made to Mijas (Malaga) to participate in the search for the child Gabriel Cruz, popularly known as "Pescaíto"; where he carried out a very important work supporting the State Security Forces and Corps in locating the child. Now, this team is reinforced with four more pilots who have recently obtained their qualification for handling these devices, completing their specialized training. This improvement in human resources will allow for more fluidity in the provision of services for which they are required, improving the breadth of these in the areas to be monitored in preventive services of the Infomur Plan, the Environment and in the face of any adversity, among others. In addition, it will make it possible to offer a spectacular advance in response times, making it more efficient in cases of certain searches for people who can go astray in the most complicated areas of the municipality.

These types of devices also have image capture and recording systems that will provide enormous support in these cases. The new volunteers who have been trained and are joining this unit are Javier Jordán, Arantzazu Campos, María Jesús Sánchez and Andrés Martín, current municipal Civil Protection technician for the Totana City Council. The training process was carried out by Mario Molino Martínez, flight monitor technician of the specialized company "Aerocámaras Especialistas en Drones".
