Last Friday, November 22, the first learning celebration of the Reina Sofía Concerted School took place in which families, teachers and students met.
The doors of the center were opened to receive families and share with them all the advances thanks to the interdisciplinary project "THE HUMAN BODY" that has been carried out in recent weeks.
This project has allowed them, among many other things, to learn the characteristics of our body, parts that form it, personal hygiene and at higher levels, the chemical composition of our body, the study of the chemical substances present in the food we eat, healthy lifestyle habits, as well as make some exit from the center to live learning through experience.
All this, complemented with the routines and strategies of cooperative learning that have been developed throughout the course.
This is the first course with the implementation of a new methodology based on projects at all stages: children, primary and secondary.
Project work enhances cooperative learning, which allows students to learn from each other.
The student is not limited to active listening, but is expected to participate actively in the recognition of problems, information collection, understanding and interpretation of data, approach to conclusions, etc.
The role of the teacher goes beyond the presentation of content.
The main function of the teacher is to create the learning situation that allows students to develop the project, which involves looking for materials, locating sources of information, managing work in groups, assessing the development of the project, solving difficulties, controlling the pace of work, facilitate the success of the project and evaluate the result.
The day of the celebration of learning is a very special day for both teachers and families, but, above all, for students, who live it with great enthusiasm and with the motivation and pride of being able to share what they have worked during those months.
This day comes at the end of each project.
The walls of each classroom collect the evidence of what was learned during its course and families are welcomed to share a very special day.
The teachers of the center would like to thank the students and professors who prepared the activities with enthusiasm and of course, you, families, for responding so actively in this activity.
See you in the next one!
