The mayor, Juan José Cánovas, has submitted a proposal to the Local Government Board in which he proposes to consign territorialized budget items in the municipal budgets of 2020 so that the pedáneos, the Neighborhood Board of the Paretón-Cantareros or neighborhood groups define autonomously the investments or maintenance expenses of the different districts or neighborhoods of Totana.
The mayor has explained that “from the government team the channels of participation of the neighbors in local public life in the decisions that affect them are considered of vital importance, to the extent possible by the City of Totana;
and this is a tool to make it operational. ”
In this sense, it is committed that, through the Municipal Council of Citizen Participation, a report on the draft budgets, prior to the Plenary, will be issued for the knowledge and contributions of local residents and groups, as well as in periodic meetings that control and give account of the level of execution of the same.
Juan José Cánovas, said that “from a concept of solidarity and unity of the territory, we must move forward with the commitment of neighbors to make our neighborhoods and districts a set that improves evenly, taking into account the needs and realities of each area and what they contribute to the group in terms of municipal services and public infrastructure ”.
By the year 2020, from budget modesty and seriousness, we could take a step to cover basic needs in all areas of the municipal area, leveling municipal resources and creating social welfare from the principles just to be governed by the local administration, says the Mayor's motion.
Over the past few years, we also observe from a critical or self-critical point, how neighborhoods or districts have not received the necessary and balanced resources for their development in new infrastructure or maintenance of services or equipment.
In addition, he has referred to important districts such as Lébor and El Paretón-Cantareros and areas such as Los Huertos and the urbanization “La Charca” that, due to their remoteness from the center of the population, tend to keep pending investments year after year with the consequent secular delay in some cases.
