Last Friday the president of the Olympic Totana Sebastian Periago along with Antonio Gea new general director of the club, met with the mayor of Totana, Juan José Cánovas, to study the actions to be carried out between the City Council and the Olympic Club of Totana in order to promote the Olympic brand as a social, dynamic and promotional tool for the city of Totana, as they informed club sources in a statement.
The president of the Club, who presented the new board of directors elected at the last extraordinary meeting, explained the lines of action that the club intends to carry out, among which are: optimizing the internal organization, updating the economic department, improving and modernizing the image of the club turning it into an exemplary, participative and friendly entity at the service of the city of Totana, reactivating the institutional relations with the different administrations, Federation and collaborating companies.
In this line, the Mayor was informed of the need to have the support of the City Council and of his figure in the football of our city, since "after the agreement of filiality reached between the Olympic Club of Totana and the Totana Baseball Club, next season our town will have more than 20 teams that will carry the name of Totana in all corners of the Region of Murcia, "they say.
The president of the Olympic indicated to the Mayor the need to work in a collaboration agreement that addresses all the necessary aspects so that the project that the club wants to implement can be carried out.
The key points of this agreement will be: the use and improvement of the installations of the Juan Cayuela stadium, seeking joint sources of funding and having greater institutional support.
In addition Sebastián Periago proposed the installation of artificial turf to the ground soccer field annexed to Juan Cayuela, "which would not only benefit the Olympic Club of Totana, but also the Prado Mayor Institute and the sports activities of the Olympic neighborhood, the Pears, Triptolemos "
For his part, the Mayor was receptive to the requests received and summoned the president of the Club that in the next few days, when the mayor of the Sports area is appointed, to have a meeting and start working to reach satisfactory agreements to both parties.
