The Department of Water and Sewerage, through the Municipal Water Service, finalized last week the repair work in two sections of sewer on the Rambla de La Santa Avenue that caused inconveniences of insalubrity and stench to neighbors and pedestrians
The works consisted in the elimination of the pipe obstruction (600 mm) caused by the existence of stones in its interior and wipes that did not stop any more, as well as the reconstruction of a well as the existing one collapsed due to being totally deteriorated.
The councilor of the branch, Antonia Camacho, has informed that the works have been extended some days of the planned thing by the complexity of the same, since initially it was thought that this infrastructure did not present so many damages;
and as a result of coinciding this space with the days of the weekly market.
In addition, he regretted that for years the sidewalks of the banks of the ravine have been completely renewed as it passes through the urban case, but nevertheless, the sewage network was not upgraded, taking advantage of the execution of the works.
The actions had to be undertaken as a matter of urgency and have been implemented since mid-September by the company "Construcciones Hermanos Palomares, SA", with a budget of 21,175 euros.
These have consisted basically in the raised of the paving since they have been made on the sidewalk of the right margin of the promenade of La Santa;
and they have made possible the cutting and demolition of the section of clogged pipe and the installation of a section of PVC pipe of 500 mm by means of the union by special elastic joints for sewerage networks, according to Antonia Camacho.
A well with prefabricated concrete rings has also been built, with a diameter of 120 centimeters and a height of approximately four meters that will solve the existing problems, as pointed out by the mayor Camacho.
