| The Ministry grants 93 grants that allow financing the training of higher VET graduates for a year at universities, research centers and companies in the Region | The Ministry of Employment, Research and Universities has allocated 1,300,000 euros to the hiring of people with a Higher Degree Vocational Training (FP) degree, and who are unemployed, by companies, universities and R&D entities D + i in the Region of Murcia.

The grants, corresponding to the 2020 financial year, have been granted through the General Directorate of Scientific Research and Innovation and are intended for these graduates to participate in research projects carried out within the framework of the RIS3Mur regional smart specialization fields, which is a great boost for the employability of graduates of various specialties of this group of Higher FP.

According to the Minister of Employment, Research and Universities, Miguel Motas, "this initiative represents a double opportunity.

On the one hand, for the FP graduate, because it allows him to work on R & D & I activities and projects in areas of intelligent specialization.

of the Region and with cross-cutting technologies that promote its development; and on the other, for universities, research centers and companies, because it makes it easier for them to have support people in their research groups, who have just finished their studies and have updated knowledge in very specific areas ".

"This is a measure that benefits all participants, but also society as a whole, since this symbiosis will be reflected in results that later reach citizens," he added.

In total, 93 full-time one-year contracts have been awarded, which are currently in the process of being processed, for the incorporation of these graduates to the University of Murcia (UMU), Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), Catholic University San Antonio (UCAM), Segura Center for Soil Science and Applied Biology (CEBAS-CSIC), Murcian Institute for Biosanitary Research (IMIB) and companies in the Region of Murcia.

For this, an amount of 13,300 gross euros per contract year has been provided to finance the salary.

These data represent an increase of 43 contracts compared to the last call, held in 2019, with an investment of 793,800 euros and which was accessed by 50 graduates.

The Ministry has counted for the implementation of this action with the co-financing of the European Social Fund (ESF), which is the main instrument that Europe has to promote employment and social inclusion, with the aim of helping citizens find a job, to change to a better one and to integrate different groups into society.
