Totana Town Council will make available more than 550 employees working in the premises of the factory of meat products "ElPozo Food" in Alhama de Murcia, public transport services to ensure their safety and comfort in shifts input and output.
The Mayor of Totana, Juan José Canovas, has maintained in recent months several meetings with the Director of Human Resources of the Fuertes Group and the company "ElPozo Food" Manuel Garcia Juesas, in order to shape this measure, which is it will be realized as a pilot during the next quarter, between the months of March and May.
Both the municipal government as responsible for the meat industry have been working on the study of this measure since last summer and is going to implement in order to assess their response from workers.
In addition, the aim of the company is that this measure can be moved to other municipalities to contribute labor to the factory depending on the degree of acceptance that may have the lead in Totana.
The municipality plans to have several collection points with parking spaces included, in coordination with the company that is responsible for performing the service.
Numerous employees of this factory are moving to the ruler of Totana whether to enable this service and avoid the inconvenience of daily traffic and parking problems they encounter them at different times of access to the factory.
In addition, this measure is gained in safety, comfort and tranquility reducing the use of the vehicle and to the daily difficulties that employees are in the car parks at the factory shift changes and the traffic generated on the road that connects both locations in the time slots in and out of the factory.
At present, the company has two shifts or even three in some sections and seasons.
The mayor thanked the company for its commitment and readiness for implementation of mechanisms like this that promote working conditions of the employees of this important factory, which employs several hundred residents of Totana directly and many more indirectly.
In principle, workers would be responsible for paying the cost of the daily service, while the Consistory would all steps necessary and appropriate to offer this service in order to ensure a "comfortable, practical and operational" transport to their needs ;
and study tools that reduce the fare.
The council wants to finalize the agreement with the works council and the Department of Human Resources, in collaboration with transport companies Totana to implement the transfer of workers from early next month.
Totana is the second municipality in the region to contribute labor to the factory of meat products.
