The Ministry of Health and Social Policy, through the Instituto Murciano Social Action (IMAS), 1,046,517 euros intended to provide almost 90 places for older people, 59 on a residential basis and 30 day center, in the town of Totana .
There are also 27 other seniors who live alone and have a medium level of autonomy that benefit from telecare service or support related to it.
The managing director of the IMAS, Leopoldo Navarro, accompanied by the CEO of Seniors IMAS, Enrique Perez, held a meeting this week with clients and professionals of the residence 'La Purisima' and Totana Day Centre.
Both directors highlighted the work performed to enable comprehensive care tailored to the needs of older, geared towards their psychological, personal autonomy and healthy aging.
Nearly 9,000 spaces in resources or services
In total, the Department on Aging IMAS account in different parts of the community with nearly 9,000 seats in different resources for seniors.
Thus, there are 2,449 residential places, 981 in day centers, 4,072 in the telecare service and 150 in the home help service.
Also, there are the 1,054 linked support services provided to users to subsidize 403 residential places, 16 in day center and 635 home help.
All these resources are implemented with a wide network of social centers for the elderly program different activities, in particular for 14 percent of the population over 65, so the number of users is more than 24,000.
