Totana has become the site of the first European grouping that brings together one hundred municipalities in Spain, Italy, France and Romania working for pottery after the constituent assembly of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation Cities Ceramics (AECC).
This event took place today in Brussels at the official headquarters of the Committee of the Regions where the president of this organization and executive of Murcia, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, has been the mayor of Totana, María Isabel Sánchez Ruiz, and the presidents of the different members of this new entity associations.
The AECC, as explained by the mayor, plans to work primarily with programs financed by the European Union on four major themes: economic development, tourism and cultural development, training and heritage around the ceramic.
Sánchez Ruiz has indicated that this is one of the few community groups of territorial cooperation thematic (in this case, on ceramics) and no border like most groups that have formed in Europe since the 2006 adoption Regulation of the European Parliament that creates and regulates.
