The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, along with the Mayor of Totana, Isabel Maria Sanchez, today inaugurated the new general sewage collector of the South, which collect wastewater and lead to overall sewage outfall of the municipality to be treated.
The new collector has a length of 5.3 kilometers and an investment of 632,398 euros.
This infrastructure is expanded manifold Lebor, 4 km long and is already under construction, which "before summer, integral sanitation Lébor deputation will be completed," said Cerda.
The execution of the two collectors will serve a population equivalent of 1,300 people and collect an average flow of 325 cubic meters per day.
Both actions, involving a total amount of 1.3 million euros, is financed 80 percent by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union.
Cerda said this new infrastructure "is a new action in the extensive network of collectors that the Community is running across the region to improve the quality of life of citizens and have more and better quality water, once treated in the corresponding sewage ".
The Minister of Agriculture and Water stressed that "99 percent of the regional population is connected to the sewage system."
He stressed that the region of Murcia has a General Plan for Sanitation and Treatment "which is a reference to countries around the world" and has allowed sewage channel and make appropriate treatment in almost all of the more than 130 agglomerations urban areas where the population is distributed in the region.
