Recently, the IES Prado Mayor received for the second year in a row students from the Collège Joseph Anglade in the French town of Lézignan-Corbières, "who already welcomed us in March," according to the French teacher of the Totanero center, Ana Belén. González López.
"Hosted in family homes of Spanish students, coexistence has allowed them not only to practice Spanish but also to know the character of the Murcians, the culture, customs and gastronomy of our town and region," he highlights.
During their stay, the 33 students accompanied by three teachers, followed a dense program of activities with cultural visits to Murcia, Cartagena, Lorca, Alicante and Totana.
On the last day they also had the opportunity to get to know the Institute and enjoy a day of coexistence with their Spanish correspondents.
Throughout the morning the French students shared a classroom with the students of the center and attended classes in different subjects such as Spanish Language, Biology, Mathematics, English, French, Physical Education, Technology, History, Economics, Physics and Chemistry and the Workshop Of electricity.
They also participated in a yoga workshop and in various sports activities, playing with students of the IES Prado Mayor in football, basketball and volleyball.
To close that week, a farewell meal was held in the school canteen with all the participating students and their families.
From the center, the project has been highly valued, as well as the interest and participation shown by families and students.
In turn, the French Department encourages them to continue participating in these activities in the future because it is not only an opportunity to speak French but to make new friends in another country, to know their culture, overcome fears, break barriers and grow in a more open and receptive mentality.
