The Bicycle Day is celebrated this Sunday, April 15, leaving the Sports Pavilion "Manolo Ibáñez", from 10:30 am, whose activity is organized by the Department of Sports and has the collaboration of the "Terra Sport Cicling" club.
The Councilor for Sports, Isabel María Molino, has presented this activity, which requires the mandatory use of a helmet and a white vest-shirt is recommended.
It is only necessary to make the registration in the case of those participants who want to qualify for a trophy in the promoted categories of younger, more veteran, more numerous and more original group;
which must be formalized in the Sports Pavilion between 9:15 and 10:15 hours.
The test also counts on the invaluable collaboration of Local Police, Civil Protection, the Department of Services and Infrastructure and Tourism, and the sponsorship of the local commercial firms "Bike Planet" and "Bici Sport Antonio Martínez", respectively.
It is also mandatory that children under 14 are accompanied by an adult, and children traveling with bicycles with wheels or who are considered unable to complete the journey for not continuing the pace of the other participants, must leave the march at the concentration point located on present-day Alberto Gray (formerly Calvo Sotelo);
and they will go from there to the Balsa Vieja square to participate in the raffles.
The route will be Calle Santomera, San Antonio, Juan XXIII, Juan de la Cierva square, Father Ãngel Novelle, Alberto Gray, where the technical stop will be held so that the youngest ones finish the race and move to the Balsa Vieja square to wait for the rest of participants.
The itinerary will continue along the Rambla de La Santa avenue, Encomienda, General Aznar, Presbítero Rodríguez Cabrera, Ibiza, Lorca avenue, Cañada Zamora, San Ramón, San Juan, Gómez Pellicer, Salvador Aledo, Francisco Palao square, General Aznar, Plaza de the Constitution and Plaza Balsa Vieja, where the tour will end.
When arriving at the Plaza de la Balsa Vieja, the group of students of the Cycling School will hold an exhibition;
and at the end of this, the Department of Sports will carry out the draw of bonds, helmets, bicycles and the delivery of prizes of the proposed categories.
Will be raffled nine bonuses for a free month in the gym "La Cárcel", five bonuses for a free month in the Cycling School, 15 helmets and three bicycles with helmets sponsored by the Department of Sports, "Bici Sport Antonio Martínez" and " Bike Planet ".
The councilor encouraged families to participate in this activity that is now celebrated coinciding with the World Bicycle Day, and in which last year more than 450 people gathered;
while thanking all the security and emergency services, sports volunteers and sponsors for their collaboration in this activity.
