The City Council acquires an Ambulance and a Drone that will be managed by Civil Protection

"The acquisition of this medical vehicle has been made entirely with its own resources, since the Regional Government never contributed the € 10,000 to which it committed to the consistory totanero in 2016 ", highlight from Ganar Totana

In mid-2016, a meeting took place with the Regional Ministry of the Presidency and the Regional Emergency Department to begin the process of acquiring an ambulance, which was attended by the Councilor for Citizen Security, Agustín Martínez, and the then Mayor, Juan José Cánovas.

In said meeting, it was agreed that the Autonomous Community would subsidize the amount of € 10,000, and the Consistory would run with the remaining cost.

Something that never finally happened, since the Regional Government of the Popular Party never fulfilled its commitment, having acquired the ambulance in its entirety with resources of the City Council.

"From summer 2016, until October 2017, the City Council made the appropriate arrangements and budget allocations for the acquisition of the ambulance, waiting for the Ministry of Presidency to do the same, and after more than a year without a response in In November 2017, the Council for Citizen Security signed a motion to the plenary to demand the fulfillment of the Regional Government's economic commitment, and once again the institutional disloyalty of the PP at all levels when its municipal spokesperson communicated that for 7 months you know that this commitment is not going to be assumed by the regional PP, months in which the legitimate representatives of the totaneros are waiting for a response. "

Given the vital importance of having an Ambulance and the high costs involved in the municipal coffers temporary hiring of ambulances for sporting, cultural events, etc., from the Government Team it is decided to acquire this medical vehicle entirely through the own resources of the City, making a great effort from different councils to get to complete the € 35,000 needed for the purchase of the Ambulance and a drone that would be decisive in emergency work, both managed by the Association of Civil Protection Volunteers.

From now on, only the pertinent administrative procedures would be left, making the preparation of the appropriate bidding document by the Contracting Department of this City Council essential.
