The Collective for Social Promotion "El Candil" has recently requested the City of Totana to renew the cession of the municipal premises of the Social Center of San Roque and the Center of Citizen Participation, in Menorca street, where they have been developing their training and socio-labor dynamisation.
The mayor, Andrés García, met a few days ago with the president of this entity, Pedro Esparza, and with his program coordinator, Eva León, in order to present the results of the report and the impact that the numerous actions that took place during 2017 in this municipality.
In addition, they urged the municipal councilor to renew the collaboration agreements that maintain the cession of both municipal infrastructures in order to guarantee the offer of the programs.
The Town Hall totanero yielded in May of last year 2017 the facilities of the Municipal Center for Citizen Participation, located in Calle Menorca, 23 under, the Collective for Social Promotion "El Candil" for management and dynamization, after it remained closed for the last years.
These premises are a single-storey infrastructure with a floor area of ​​364.36 square meters composed of 10 offices, a multipurpose room with capacity for 25 or 30 people, a meeting room with capacity for 10 people, a room equipped with network connections, reception, waiting room, 4 toilets and archive-warehouse.
Since then, this entity has been promoting non-profit activities and programs aimed at different groups (children, youth, families, etc.) in the field of information, training, employment, work-life balance, socio-educational intervention, social participation and volunteering;
whose projects are being developed by virtue of public aid.
The Collective for Social Promotion "El Candil" covers the electricity and water costs of the center as well as others (telephone, internet, cleaning products, etc.) that derive from the use of the premises.
The people in charge of "El Candil" value the infrastructural support that the City Council does, since thanks to the cession of spaces, the activities can be developed in suitable conditions;
while highlighting the availability of the offices located in Menorca Street, in the neighborhood of La Cerámica, which have meant an increase in the quality of attention to the people served.
