The Department of Education recalls that the process of admission of students to apply for school place in schools for the school year 2018/2019 concludes this Friday, March 16.
For the first time, in the process of admission of students, it will be necessary to sign the two parents or guardians of the minor to formalize the application.
The objective is to address cases in which there is disagreement in schooling between parents for reasons of separation or divorce.
With this measure, only one application will be accepted for each student, in which the signatures of the father and the mother must be included, whether or not they are separated.
This year, for the first time, applicants may opt for four communication channels to receive, by way of information, the results of the different scale and award processes: via web, by message to the mobile phone, by email or through the Telegram mobile messaging application, explained Moreno.
From the 5th of March until the 16th of March the families can present the application forms in the center of their reference or through the web of electronic administration of the Community, both for Children, Primary, Secondary and Baccalaureate.
On May 10, the score and centers for Pre-school and Primary Education will be published provisionally.
June 1 will be the final award.
In Compulsory Secondary Education and Bachillerato, the punctuation and provisional center will be published on June 4 and on July 6, the final ones.
Once awarded to its final center, the student will have three days to complete the registration.
Scare
The scoring scale is maintained with respect to the last course.
All parents can freely choose any school or institute in the municipality, since the single school zone has been extended to all the municipalities of the Community since the last school year.
The first option chosen has 2 points.
In this way, the address is no longer determinant to be able to choose the desired school, as explained by the Councilor for Education.
The scale includes 5 points per address or place of work in the school zone.
Those five points will be assigned to all families that request a school in their same municipality, regardless of the neighborhood or district in which they reside.
They will not only be added if what is requested is a place in a school in a municipality different from the residence of the family.
The centers participating in the second cycle of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education and Secondary Education may choose a complementary criterion, with a value of one point, which will be freely chosen among five different options.
The list of options for these possible center criteria will be as follows: request the center in first option, have siblings enrolled in the center, area close to the student's home or place of work of the parents with respect to the center, have completed a previous educational stage in the center or be the son or brother of a former student.
To facilitate the reconciliation between professional and family life, the scale includes a series of measures such as granting 10 points for having a sibling in the same center and 2 for each of the following.
In addition, with the new scale additional points are also granted to large families: 1 point for general large family (3 children) and 2 for the special category (more than 3 children).
In the same way, single-parent families will have two points.
Other significant scoring criteria: student with disability (4 points);
and parents or siblings with disabilities (0.5 to a total of 2 points). All information about the process, together with the corresponding documentation, will be published in the 'Admission of students' section of the Educarm portal.
