Two persons have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of a crime against the right of workers, for trafficking in human beings for the purpose of labor exploitation

The inspection of the company allowed the identification of four foreign workers, three of them in an irregular situation in Spain, who had no employment contract

It has had the collaboration of Labor Inspection and Social Security of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, in collaboration with officials of the Labor Inspection and Social Security of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, has developed the operation 'ABANDONADO', an investigation that has culminated in the detention of two persons, managers of a company located in the municipality of Totana, as alleged perpetrators of an offense against workers' rights, for trafficking in human beings for labor exploitation purposes.

The investigation began when the Guardia Civil was informed of the health care provided at a Health Center in Totana, a Moroccan citizen who had come after having suffered a work accident, consisting of a cut in the face with a radial type tool.

Apparently, the patient came alone and did not present documentation that accredits his legal stay in the national territory, by residence or work.

With this information, the Benemérita initiated the necessary work for the identification of the victim, as well as the company where the accident was supposed to have occurred, which was positive when finding out that it was a mercantile, based in Totana, dedicated to the repair of trailers and semi-trailers of heavy vehicles.

The researchers, in collaboration with officials of the Labor and Social Security Inspectorate of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, coordinated an inspection device, in the face of suspicions that a crime could be committed against the right of workers .

A team, made up of members of the Corps and inspectors, moved to the factory where the accident was supposed to have occurred, to carry out an inspection.

Three of the workers had no residence or work permit

The visit was completed with the identification of 15 workers of different nationalities, among whom were four Moroccan citizens who lacked the corresponding labor contract.

Three of these, moreover, had no residence or work permit.

The operation "ABANDONADO" has culminated in the arrest of the two managers of the mercantile one of them with a large criminal record for crimes of the same nature, which are attributed the alleged perpetration of crime against the right of workers, trafficking in human beings for the purpose of labor exploitation.

The arrested men, of Spanish nationality, of 23 and 45 years, neighbors of the municipalities of Almería of Huércal Overa and Velez Rubio and the investigations instructed have been made available to the Court of Instruction number 2 of Totana (Murcia).

In addition, the corresponding sanctioning files have been processed, in view of the different administrative infractions detected.
