Murcia deputies María González Veracruz and Pedro Saura presented an initiative for the earliest possible sign this agreement at the same price that the previous agreements signed with the Communities of Irrigators of Lorca and Totana
The National Socialist deputy Maria Gonzalez Veracruz presented at the Congress of Deputies a proposition of law that urges the Ministry of Agriculture and Aquamed to sign with the Community of Irrigators of Totana the agreement to supply 10 cubic hectometres from desalination plant Eagles, at the price of 0.36 euros per cubic meter to consolidate irrigation Raiguero and Paretón.
Gonzalez Veracruz said that has not been fulfilled what was agreed in the Regional Assembly last February, supported by all political groups, so the socialist parliamentary group presented this proposition of law in Congress.
Through this initiative, both national deputies, Maria Gonzalez Veracruz and Pedro Saura, as the regional deputy Alfonso Martinez, ask the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura (CHS) and the Ministry of Agriculture what happens with the agreement of water supply for consolidation Raiguero of irrigation and desalination plant Paretóndesde Eagles.
The Socialist deputy, who has been visiting the area and supporting the neighbors in their claims with Deputy Mayor of Totana, Andrés García, and the regional deputy Alfonso Martinez, said that this agreement had to be signed some time to resolve problems hundreds of residents of the districts of Totana.
He recalled that the Ministry of Agriculture, through the CHS, said emergency execution of the main pipeline that will carry desalinated water from the plant Eagles, specifically from the Cerro Colorao, the irrigation Guadalentín Valley, in the municipalities of Lorca and Totana.
The works have a budget of 20 million euros, and was scheduled to enter into service in late March 2016 to mitigate the effects that is causing the drought in the Valley Guadalentín.
Finally, Gonzalez Veracruz has stressed the urgency of signing the agreement to normalize the situation of uncertainty that farmers have totaneras districts of Raiguero and Paretón.
"It would make sense that the water that carries this pipe is supplied to farmers at different prices, depending on the location of their holdings," he explained.
"Therefore, it is reasonable that the agreement to consolidate these irrigable be signed as soon as possible and at the same price that the previous agreements with the Communities of Irrigators of Lorca and Totana signed", he concluded.
