The socialist regional deputy, Alfonso Martínez baths, has filed a motion in the Regional Assembly which calls for support for actions and proceedings initiated by the city of Totana to obtain the Declaration of Regional Tourist Interest Fiestas for Carnival Totana.
Bathrooms Martinez argues that the carnival of Totana "have experienced significant growth in recent years in terms of organization, participation and development of their parades and complementary activities organized on the occasion of this holiday, thanks to the important work of the Federation Peñas de Carnaval de Totana ".
The Federation of Peñas del Carnaval de Totana filed a brief last day October 6, 2015 in the town council, signed by representatives of the various Peñas de Carnaval, requesting collaboration to this party is declared by the Autonomous community and Regional Tourist Interest.
Socialist MP EXPICA that the Federation is made up of 22 clubs and brings together more than 1,200 people "involved each year with more care and quality in the parades that take place on the occasion of Carnival".
Also this Federation working with the City in organizing activities to promote the culture and traditional celebrations of the municipality.
Also active as changing powers of Musa and Don Carnal, the Proclamation, the Golden Mask awards, the coexistence of Peñas and the parade in other municipalities in the region.
Alfonso Martínez added that have been established and recovered activities that were lost, as the parade of the traditional "Mardi Gras" photo contest, lectures and visits to schools to explain the origin of carnavles.
By the Federation it has attached great importance to the dissemination and promotion of the festival in the media;
proof of this was the broadcasting of the parade live 7TV on 13 February, which has revealed the peculiarities and characteristics of the Carnaval de Totana.
Therefore it urges the Governing Council to include this agreement in the case brought for that purpose.
