The Department of Education of the City of Totana has distributed during this week a total of 9,345 protective masks in the 11 schools of Totana for distribution among educational communities, whose total budget amounts to 60,000 euros. The masks have been delivered, basically, for use by the students and the teachers themselves of the Early Childhood and Primary Education centers of the municipality, as reported by the mayor Agustín Gonzalo Martínez. This initiative complies with the plenary agreement of last October, which was unanimously approved at the initiative of the Socialist Group. Similarly, the Department also distributed, at the beginning of this second quarter, a total of 199 purifying equipment with high-tech air filtration systems for use in all classrooms of all Infant and Primary Education schools, the School Infant "Clara Campoamor" and those with the worst ventilation conditions in the "Juan de la Cierva" and Prado Mayor "IES, respectively. The Hepa filters - an acronym for high efficiency particle air filter - thus also comply with the same plenary agreement of the Municipal Corporation, thus leaving all the classrooms of the Totana schools covered; as well as 8 from the IES "Juan de la Cierva" and another 4 from the "Prado Mayor", which have greater ventilation problems.
The devices were also purchased through the appropriate tender procedure with a total budget of 40,000 euros.
