The tender for the new contract, which has been in process for one year since last January 2020, highlights the incompetence of the mayor's management.
The PP requires the mayor to work so that the workers of the interior cleaning service of municipal centers and facilities collect the 3 payrolls that they have pending in the middle of Christmas.
There are three payrolls that the cleaning company employees have pending after performing their work; November, December and extra December, despite the fact that the City Council has allegedly paid the contract to the company that has the cleaning concession.
The mayor of Totana, who is ultimately responsible for the contract for cleaning the interiors of municipal centers and facilities, must mediate and put all the means and actions necessary for the company to pay the pending payroll to the employees subrogated to said company, since they have performed their work according to contract.
The mayor's excuses that the City Council has paid the company do not work, but must do everything in its power so that the employees are not the victims of the problems that the contracted cleaning company maintains by the City Council and the latter, in addition to his incompetence for not having solved the tender for the contract in a year.
Since last January, when the company communicated the decision not to extend the contract, the mayor has not been able to award it again, which has been detrimental to the company and the consequent and more worrisome for the workers , who have reached Christmas dates with three payrolls behind them.
In January 2020, the Local Government Board agreed to start contracting the new Interior Cleaning Service in Municipal Centers and Facilities, committing to draft the legal specifications and technical prescriptions that had to be govern the contract and the award process, after one year, the contract has not been awarded and hence has led to current problems for the workers, since the company already announced more than a year ago that he could not continue with said contract.
The inaction of the mayor and the government team for not expediting and urgently removing the contract to avoid major problems, has resulted in the employees subrogated by the company, mothers of families, being the ones who are suffering defaults , which accumulate the non-payment of three payrolls in full Christmas season.
The PP demands that the mayor take all the necessary legal measures to solve the current problem and urgently expedite the process of awarding said contract, a procedure that is currently paralyzed in the City Council.
The mayor must put all the meat on the grill, finish the adjudication process and finalize the current contract with the company, since in sight, he is not able to keep the payroll to the workers , which I already warned last January and that the mayor did not take seriously and did not proceed urgently to solve the problem.
The PP asks the mayor to demand that the company comply with the signed commitments and take steps to pay the pending payroll, avoiding the calling of a strike and greater suffering of the families, in addition to finalizing the award process said contract immediately.
