The Local Government Board has recently approved the proposal of the Mayor of Totana City Council on the reception of the expansion and adaptation works of the Medical Office of El Paret n-Cantareros to COVID-19 , after a few days ago the adaptation actions of said infrastructure ended, making it available to the Ministry of Health for its reopening. The Totana City Council has made a municipal investment of more than 35,000 euros in order to resume Primary Care in the district safely, once the regional Administration starts it up.
The City Council, in collaboration with the Paretón Neighborhood Board, has been working to carry out the necessary adjustments to the district's medical office to adapt said space to the current situation and that Primary Care can be provided again with the necessary guarantees to carry out the security protocols against Covid-19. Once finished, it remains at the disposal of the competent Administration, the Ministry of Health through the Health Area III Management, for its reopening.
Professionals from the Totana Sur Health Center are working together with the municipal services to adapt the facilities and their prompt start-up. After this reform, which was a requirement of the Ministry of Health for its reopening after the State of Alarm, the Clinic may remain open in the event of any circumstance arising from the Covid-19 pandemic, saving inconvenience for patients.
Neighbors who received primary care in this clinic and since March have been transferred to one of the Health Centers in the urban area. In the future, the expansion will serve to provide the office with more specialties, which is a request from the Neighborhood Board since before the Covid-19 pandemic occurred.
