They launch a campaign on Change.org against the "dismantling" of the Bastide

Source:

The petition, which has been launched by the Platform in defense of the Bastida Project - UAB and is addressed to the Mayor of Totana and the CARM, is the following:"From those responsible for the Department of Heritage, the General Directorate of Cultural Assets has been requested (in order not to continue paying for the monitoring of the Site) to remove the material assets that are in the process of investigation and that are part of our cultural heritage.

With this, those responsible for the research project are being invited to leave La Bastida, so that the site is left without a potential source of research for its continuous development, adhering it as in many other sites to a state of permanent abandonment.

This, too, prevents us from having a museum duly endowed with the pieces from our site in the future, since the materials would not return, leaving the decision on their final destination in the hands of a group of people outside the municipality.Hence our PETITION to SEARCH SUSTAINABLE ALTERNATIVES so that the archaeological materials REMAIN in the LA BASTIDA deposit, promoting the exhibition in our Municipality. We cannot allow our past to be taken from us !!, which is also part of the future of our people.

"The petition, which can be signed at   this link , has so far had 365 signatures.
