The Department of Social Welfare reports that the Center for Child Development and Early Attention (CDIAT) has attended, during the first semester of 2020, a total of 213 boys and girls.The CDIAT of Totana is a service that serves children between 0 and 6 years of age, who may have some difficulty related to different areas of child development (language, cognitive, motor or social).Early Care has an interdisciplinary and preventive character, among the professions that provide care in the center we find Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology or social work.In the context caused by the COVID-19 pandemic during 2020, two Contingency Plans have been carried out that allowed, firstly, the remote care of families and children cared for, and secondly, allowed the resumption of face-to-face activity to children during the month of May, and that has continued until the end of July.
The CDIAT plans to resume its activity in September.The center is located in the Tirol Camilleri neighborhood, in front of the Local Social del Barrio, and it is a service of municipal ownership, dependent on the Department of Social Welfare, and of a public and free nature.The center is co-financed by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, through the Murcian Institute of Social Action (IMAS), and the Totana City Council itself.
