Volunteers from the Totana Civil Protection Group continue these summer months providing reinforcement work to forest fire prevention agents, whose action is part of the Infomur 2020 Plan, with the aim of protecting people, goods and the environment.The volunteers have been carrying out mobile surveillance work in different strategic points of Sierra Espuņa and the upper districts of Totana; the so-called "black spots", places and corners where they do not have visibility of the usual guards of the sentry boxes.95% of forest fires that occur in summer and are usually due to carelessness or distraction, recklessness, irresponsibility or arson behavior, so it is recommended to immediately notify 112 in the event of an incident; and in any case, do not throw cigarettes, matches or lighters on the ground; as well as garbage outside the authorized containers, glass bottles or lighting fires in the mountains, boulevards or ravines in times of risk.In addition, users are urged that if they are going to burn, they must request timely authorization and extreme caution during its execution.

Thus, 4,000 fixed euros are contributed to each of the municipalities, which are increased by 1,500 euros if their forest area exceeds 50 percent of the total municipal area and with another 1,500 euros if the forest area is greater than 5,000 hectares.
In addition, if it exceeds 40,000 hectares, another 1,500 euros are added.This money is intended to partially finance municipal expenses caused by maintenance, fuel, repairs and replacement of uniformity elements derived from the action of groups or associations of civil protection volunteers in the tasks of detection, warning, extinction and logistical support during the period between June 16 and September 15.The Infomur Plan, in whose operation more than 500 personnel work, establishes the organization and the procedures for action of the resources and services of autonomic ownership, and those that may be assigned by other public administrations or public or private entities, in order to protect people, property and the environment, from the risk of forest fires, within our territory.
