| "From the PSOE in Totana we want to carry out a realistic analysis of the latest events that have occurred in our municipality in the past few days" | The climate of latent violence and the social fracture between different groups in our town has increased due to the lack of a police presence and the negligence on the part of the Citizen Security Councilor in enforcing the new regulations imposed by the Autonomous Community of Murcia for the COVID control 19.Likewise, there has been a chaotic traffic jam on the exits and entrances to Totana daily without effective measures being taken to solve it.
This has caused harm to all people who justifiably had to go to work or any medical appointment outside the urban area.We understand that the person directly responsible for these situations is the councilor for citizen security Agustín Martínez for not having organized the police resources, of which he is the most responsible and for not being able to coordinate with the Autonomous Community and the Government Delegation their powers and contributions to solve these problems. We have been denouncing this resignation for two weeks, when the aforementioned councilor was not able to acknowledge his mistakes at a press conference.
From the Totana PSOE we have always understood that to err is human, but whoever does not recognize their mistakes is because they intend to continue committing them or are not aware of them and therefore will continue to commit them.Sadly, this prediction has been fulfilled and the evident lack of capacity and foresight (intentional or not) to manage this situation has led to a citizen security crisis.
The extremely dangerous increase in this tension and the tension between our neighbors, who do not understand why certain groups are treated differently, can have fatal consequences and therefore we demand that this situation be corrected urgently.
This is vital for the peaceful coexistence in our city. For these reasons, we reaffirm our request to the Mayor of Totana, Juan José Cánovas, who aside from his responsibilities immediately Agustín Martínez, for his MANIFESTABLE AND REITERATED DISABILITY, urging him to immediately remedy this painful situation, before it is too late.Likewise, we have again asked the Government Delegation to increase the police presence that depends on them to make up for the lack of organization of the local police.
This request already had its effects the previous week and for which two more entry and exit points were opened. We also demand that President López Miras equip the local health system with the necessary means to deal with the health chaos we are experiencing and to control the outbreak appropriately.
This is the only way to gradually ease the measures imposed on our citizens, merchants and hoteliers.
To find solutions, again, the PSOE of Totana reaches out again to our Mayor and is at his disposal.
