| The PP of Totana condemns and rejects the violence and aggression that suffered a hotelier in the municipality last night and asks that the full weight of the law falls on the aggressor | The Popular Party asks the mayor to strengthen police surveillance and act in those "conflictive" establishments (so named by the mayor himself) who fail to comply with the BORM order No.
169 of 07/23/2020 of the Ministry of Health, proceeding to immediate closure of the same if such breaches are observed. In addition to damaging the professionalism and image of the other bars that are complying with sanitary measures, the hoteliers are the maximum sufferers and disadvantaged by the consequences of the breaches of a few.
From the PP we want to show our support for the hospitality sector that is being singled out and stigmatized, being one of the most sacrificed sectors of this crisis. In recent interventions in the media, the Mayor has requested control and complaints from the neighbors to replace their ineffectiveness and incompetence in their management in the face of the serious health crisis, which we consider irresponsible on the part of the neighborhood conflicts that it may cause and that have caused that request. The PP of Totana condemns and rejects the violence and aggression suffered by a hotelier in the municipality and asks that the aggressor be acted with the utmost force. The resignation of Mayor Juan José Cánovas, in addition to positive discrimination and public protests blaming the residents of Totana for suffering these restrictions, make him the most responsible for the conflict that is taking place in our town. The excess of relaxation of the Mayor and his Government Team when enforcing in certain "troubled bars" the Order of the Ministry of Health, published in BORM 169 of 07/23/2020, which provides in its article 4.6 "The maximum night-time closing of hotels, restaurants, pubs, nightlife venues, discos and gambling and betting venues is set at 00:00 and new clients cannot be admitted after 11:30 p.m." taken to produce conflicts and aggressions between neighbors of the same union in Totana. As stated in article 6.2 of said order, the competence to enforce the sanitary measures imposed by the Ministry of Health is that of the City of Totana, with Juan José Cánovas being the head of the consistory, who must ensure compliance, especially having evidence in social networks of which are those who skip the rules. From the Popular Party we demand political responsibilities before the serious avoidable events that happened last night in our municipality.
