| Promoted by the Federation of Municipalities of the Region, in collaboration with Ecoembes | The Department of Environment of the City of Totana has joined the citizen awareness campaign entitled #NoAbandonesTusGuantesYMascarillas and promoted by the Federation of Municipalities of the Region, in collaboration with Ecoembes.This initiative is promoted with the aim of continuing with the objective of raising awareness to avoid trash, and above all raising awareness among the public about the waste of gloves and masks and that, if they are abandoned improperly, they will end up generating more trash in our environments natural.The Totanero City Council is going to spread this campaign through the media and corporate social networks, with the idea of ??encouraging residents to act and participate individually.Coinciding with the progressive incorporation of protection elements such as gloves and masks in our lives due to the pandemic following COVID-19, and that they will be present in our lives and will accompany us in time, it is recommended not to abandon these waste generating more garbage that impacts on natureIn this way, citizens, users in general, are urged to deposit them in the garbage container for remains, to continue taking care of nature. This initiative is part of the 'LIBERA, united against rubbish' project, which was born in 2017 to curb the consequences of waste abandoned in natural spaces, rubbish, in the different Spanish ecosystems.
It was created by the dean environmental NGO of Spain, SEO / BirdLife, in alliance with Ecoembes, the non-profit environmental organization that promotes the circular economy through the recycling of packaging.The objective of this initiative is to raise awareness and mobilize citizens to keep natural spaces free of garbage and thus, to liberate much more life in favor of biodiversity.
To do this, LIBERA proposes a comprehensive approach to the problem, in three axes of action: knowledge, prevention and participation.
