The Totana City Council has agreed, by resolution of the Mayor's Office, to award the contract for expansion and adaptation to protocol COVID-19 of the Medical Office of the hamlet of El Paretón-Cantareros, for an amount of 32,912 euros.The Local Government Board agreed two weeks ago to urgently start the procedure to award the contract for these actions, which will be carried out by the company "Constu Archena, SL".
A total of six construction companies have attended the tender procedure, with the tender budget being 41,149.72 euros.In addition, the list of administrative clauses that had to govern the tender and award of the aforementioned contract has been approved, as well as the report valued and drawn up by the municipal technicians.The contracting of the referred works has been processed through a simplified summary procedure, with the price as the sole award criterion.The El Paretón Medical Office is a building built in 1993, which has been in use until the start of the pandemic caused by COVID-19, which had to be closed to the public and users were referred to the two centers of Totana.This fact has caused numerous annoyances to the residents of the deputations to which it provides medical service, with a large census of older people, which have greatly hindered their access to medical services by having to travel 12 kilometers to Totana.The City Council of Totana, in its spirit of helping the citizens by facilitating access to medical services, has contacted the Ministry of Health in order to reopen this center.Following the instructions received by this department of the Autonomous Community on the minimum works to adapt this center and be able to offer medical services and carry out preventive measures before COVID-19, it has written a report in order to describe these works necessary for its adaptation and reopening of the center.
