The Department of Finance reminds that the voluntary collection period for the payment of the Tax on Mechanical Traction Vehicles remains until next June 5, which was extended by one month due to the context of the health crisis following the coronavirus pandemic.The Mayor's Office decreed a resolution on April 14 that extended, due to the current context of the state of alarm, to June 5, including the period of voluntary collection of the Tax on Mechanical Traction Vehicles, which was in progress and was ending this May 5.In this way, the modification of the voluntary collection period was approved to the tax register of said tax corresponding to the year 2020, extending it for one more month, the total amount of which amounts to 1,731,690.69 euros.This measure has been adopted given the extraordinary situation produced as a consequence of the health crisis by COVID-19, and in view of article 53 of Royal Decree 11/2020, of March 31, which agrees to the suspension of deadlines in the tax area of ??the autonomous communities and local entities.This order has been published in an edict, in which it is also informed that, once the indicated period has elapsed, the executive period will begin, proceeding to the collection of the installments not satisfied with the surcharges established in article 28 of the General Tax Law, default interest and the costs of the procedure.
