The Day Centers for People with Disabilities in Totana have been offering personalized attention to the users of both infrastructures during confinement, taking advantage of new technologies, coinciding with the health crisis caused by the coronavirus. The Day Center for People with Intellectual Disabilities "José Moya Trilla" that normally serves 35 users and the Day Center for People with Mental Illness that provides service to 18 users, have launched a "Personalized Care Program", from that the state of alarm began, with the aim of not leaving any isolated user at home. This program is supported by new technologies and profiles on social networks of centers such as Facebook, WhatsApp, telephone calls and video calls and the Classroom tool.
Each professional individually monitors a small group of 3 or 4 users, who are offered daily activities in different subjects adapted to their circumstances, games, challenges, creativity, learning, health advice, home care, psychosocial support, etc. This last week the necessary steps are being taken to start carrying out tasks adapted to the homes of users and thus support those users who do not have technological means. The Day Centers for Disability of the City of Totana thank the collaboration of users and families, for the realization of this Care Program, which maintains the unit of users, families and professionals in this difficult time and look forward to the moment in which they meet again and resume the normal activity of the centers.
