| Léucade Gallery and El Punto Rojo Gallery: Murcian art galleries that reinvent themselves | During the period of confinement, which lasts almost 40 days, many have been the museums that have opened their doors through virtual visits, from the Hermitage to the Prado, passing through the Uffizi or the Louvre.
It is difficult to replicate the experience of walking "in vivo" through the halls of these great cultural spaces, but the advancement of technology has brought us closer to the possibility of moving with a click of the mouse among the great works exhibited on their walls and they have become the best option to discover or review the incredible collections they house. From Galería Léucade, space with 6 and a half years of existence and which has always stood out as a multidisciplinary space in which all types of art shake hands, Sofía Martínez Hernández (1987, Totana , Murcia) has reinvented what a gallery of art can offer to the public. In these moments of sanitary alarm and confinement, 3D virtual visits and social networks will allow us to delight ourselves with works of art that we cannot see otherwise, now that we cannot leave our homes except for essential activities (culture being one of the great excluded).
And this is how Sofia has understood it from her galleries: Léucade and El Punto Rojo, fighting against the enormous difficulties that this confinement poses for an activity like that of an art gallery. The public will be able to "walk" through the two floors that house Léucade and El Punto Rojo, without having to travel to Calle Jacobo de las Leyes in the center of Murcia, to meet and explore the exhibitions that were confined on 13 March: "The hypersexualization of the woman's chest", by Sara Aroca at Galería Léucade and "Temiscira", collective exhibition of the anniversary of El Punto Rojo, composed by great national and international artists from various places.Virtual reality is being reinforced with interviews and live shows on Instagram and publications on YouTube, where artists and gallery owners are sharing experiences and points of view, interacting with the public interested in learning about current galleries.
Exclusive never before published videos of old theater, dance performances, conferences, workshops, or concerts that have been enjoyed in the past in the galleries or at the Keyhole Art Fair, also created and directed by Sofía Martínez, are being offered.
During this confinement, he finalizes the preparations for his participation in Just LX, one of the great art fairs in Lisbon (to which Léucade will bring 70% Murcia representation), who had to postpone the celebration of the event from May to September 2020,the same month that Keyhole Art Fair will be held -the first Art fair that took place in Murcia- which will shortly be announcing its third edition. The virtual visits of the galleries can be accessed from the social networks of @galerialeucade and @galeriaelpuntorojo and from the websites of Galería Léucade and Keyhole Art Fair (@keyholeartfair)Take the virtual tour
