The Local Police, Civil Guard and Civil Protection have started today the distribution of the 8,000 masks for workers assigned to the municipality of Totana by the Government of Spain, which will be distributed during the first days of this week in industrial areas and strategic points of work activity after resuming work activity.
The Totana City Council received yesterday from the Government Delegation in the Region of Murcia finally this number of masks within the campaign activated for the promotion of hygiene and healthy habits, which will be distributed from tomorrow to the workers who from this Monday They will resume their work activity.
The masks are distributed between 6:30 and 9:30 am by the Local Police and Civil Guard patrols, supported by Civil Protection volunteers, according to a plan agreed upon in the Coordination Table of COVID-19 in this municipality .
The strategic places are transport hubs and areas or accesses to industrial estates.
Today, the distribution has been established at the access roundabouts to the "El Saladar" industrial estate from the A7 motorway, the Adolfo Suárez roundabout (Juan Carlos I avenue towards Lorca, at the height of Las Peras boulevard), the Glorieta Principe de Asturias (La Turra; Juan Carlos I avenue towards Mazarrón) and intermodal station and bus stops.
Tomorrow they will focus on the roundabouts of the “El Torrejón†and “Moyca†industries and the intersection of Príncipe de Asturias avenue with the Camino de Tallante (El Paretón) and intermodal station and bus stops.
This initiative seeks to guarantee the safety and health measures for workers when traveling for work reasons and in those cases in which it is more difficult to maintain personal distance.
Likewise, it is recalled that the distribution of masks for workers is only a support for the health protection measures adopted by the Government of Spain and that it involves the essential reduction of citizen mobility and maximum observance of the hygiene and public health.
