Civil Protection Technicians in Totana participated last Saturday in a training session on interior disinfection, taught by the Military Emergency Unit (UME) and organized by the Center for Coordination of Emergencies in the Region of Murcia 1-1-2.
The day was developed through three distributed groups that were rotating in the training action, learning the procedure for preparing mixtures of disinfecting products and disinfecting indoor and outdoor facilities.
In addition, they addressed the types of personal protective equipment (PPE) and their use, such as safe placement and removal;
as well as the practice of the EPI's disinfection protocol.
This day was also attended by other civil protection officers from the Region of the Region of Murcia, firefighters, forest brigades and municipal services, among others.
This action was requested from the General Directorate of Citizen Security and Emergencies to the Ministry of Defense, and it was carried out by three units of the Third Emergency Intervention Battalion based in the 'Jaime I' military base in Bétera (Valencia), included in the 'Balmis' operation to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was carried out in three different scenarios: the headquarters of the 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center of the Autonomous Community, the 'Julio López Ambit' center for people with disabilities and the 'Obispo Azagra' residence for the elderly, both located in the Murcian hamlet of El Palmar.
