As they narrate, the Spanish Embassy does not offer them any type of help to return to Spain.
They say that they have invested a lot of money in flights and that they have been canceled.
All scales are impossible to do right now, they lament.
"They asked us for a negative Coronavirus test and we got it."
They also asked for a medical certificate, insurance that covered more than $ 100,000 of possible expenses.
After telling them all that, they canceled the flight and according to what the Embassy comments, they did not pick up the phone or give them any possible solution.
They ask for a repatriation flight for the more than 100 people who are there in practically the same situation.
"The only thing we want to do is go back to our country. Our rent is ending, soon our visa ends," they lament.
"How does Spain help us in this situation?" They ask.
They end up asking for this message to be spread.
"We need help, we need to go home," they add.
Embassy of Spain in Australia
The Spanish Embassy in Australia has released this morning in the early Spanish hours a statement through the official Twitter account in which it reports CURRENT COVID-19 for NON-SPANISH RESIDENTS IN AUSTRALIA
In the statement, the Spanish Embassy in Australia recalls that it has been appealing since last March 15 to all Spanish non-residents in Australia (including tourists, students and Working Holiday visa holders) to reschedule their flights back to Spain, given the possibility that due to the COVID-19 and the border control measures put in place, air connections with Spain, as well as departure from Australia, will be complicated.
"We remind you that since March 15 we have been strongly recommending that all Spanish citizens with a planned return trip to Spain contact their travel agency or airline to reschedule their return as soon as possible, in view of the existence of flights commercials with departure from Australia, still operational today, March 24, 2020 ", they insist.
The statement informs the Spaniards who are still in Australia of the commercial flights available today as well as the stopovers on the way to return to Spain or Europe.
