Local Police officers have intensified the information and orientation work for agricultural workers and laborers from today on measures to avoid the risk of contagion when traveling to their different places of work.
The Local Police will visit the places and times of the day where these workers gather to move, above all, to carry out agricultural tasks in private vehicles, vans and coaches.
In this sense, the operators will be warned that to carry out these movements, the necessary protection elements must be placed, such as a mask or similar and gloves;
and the minimum one-meter distance between people must be respected.
In addition, the waiting areas must be at least 1.5 meters away.
Likewise, it is recalled that the disposition to carry out the displacements is as follows, always following the protection and self-protection and safety measures:
- 5-seater passenger cars: 2 people, driver and a passenger in the back right.
- 7-seater vehicles: 2 people.
- 9-seater vehicles: 3 people.
- Coaches: 30% of seats, leaving the rear row empty for the driver
The Local Police urges employers to require their employees to comply with current regulations under the state of alarm;
and it calls for the responsibility and collaboration of the entire sector, which in situations like this shows its strategic nature and is developing normally.
The agricultural and livestock activities continue to be able to continue supplying food, therefore the sector does not stop, although the recommendations and limitations that have been especially dictated in the case of personal hygiene must be followed to avoid contagions and when traveling to places. of work.
It is recalled that the norm establishes that to move must be done individually, unless accompanying people with disabilities or for other justified cause.
Some recommendations recommendations
The Local Police reports that it is very important to exercise extreme personal hygiene (frequent hand washing), work and transport equipment, and the correct use of PPE.
Likewise, workers must be informed of the obligations to follow and the necessary protocols both at work, commuting and rest times to avoid crowds or groups of people.
It is about making small changes in daily activity but given the exceptional situation, they should be strictly followed, such as frequent hand washing (soap and water), avoiding contact of the hands without disinfecting (eyes, nose and mouth), not using rings, bracelets, watches and disinfect phones.
In addition, work tools to be shared must be disinfected, hair should be collected, if it is with a better hat or scarf, make proper use of PPE, work on different lines, avoid breaks in groups during break times ( separation between people at least one meter), you cannot eat inside the greenhouse, do not share water bottles, make exclusive trips from home work and monitor for Coronavirus symptoms.
In the case of those who have handling facilities on farms, in addition to the above, there must be a minimum distance between workers of one meter, both on the side and in front of the worker.
Disinfection between work shifts in handling areas, reinforcing the use of PPE and its correct use and restricting access.
