Civil Protection Volunteers in Totana today began the company and collaboration program to help in the acquisition of food and medicine among the most vulnerable sectors of the population, the elderly and neighbors who live alone in their homes.
These actions are being carried out with the coordination of the Municipal Center of Social Services, and under the guidance and supervision of the non-governmental organizations, Caritas of the two parishes and the Salus Infirmorum Association, respectively.
In addition, the Civil Protection Association will coordinate all the collaboration and volunteer actions of people who have offered to help in this regard with the acquisition of material or delivery of products to people living alone.
Most of them are helping to provide already cooked meals and, above all, run errands or transport purchases of food and medicines from supermarkets and pharmacies due to the unavailability of home confinement.
The Totana City Council yesterday activated its Municipal Territorial Plan for Civil Protection, level 1, which is launched in the event that the risk, urgency or emergency needs, with the consequent constitution of CECOPAL, from where all resources are coordinated and mobilized municipal means.
