As President of the Irrigation Community of Totana, Juan Pagán, current spokesman for the Popular Group in Totana, had the opportunity to get hectometers of desalinated water at a lower price than the current one.
This was done by some community of irrigators, such as Lorca, which, through negotiations with ACUAMED, signed a contract to obtain 23 cubic hectometers of desalinated water at the price of € 0.36.
In that same year, the President of the Irrigation Community, Juan Pagán, today spokesman for the popular in Totana, along with the then Mayor, Isabel Sánchez, refused to carry out such efforts with the Ministry.
Then they preferred to side with the PP, making a negative publicity campaign against the desalination plants established by the former socialist minister, Cristina Narbona;
instead of supporting Totana's irrigators and helping them get desalinated water at a lower price than the current one.
The PP is still late and it is fair to refresh the memory of the neighbors, because the actions of the Popular Party with partisan interests of the past, have serious consequences in the present.
Despite its contradictions and demagogy, the Municipal Socialist Group supports and defends a sustainable and equal price for desalinated water.
