The Plenary Session of the City Council of Totana agreed unanimously at its last session, at the initiative of the Municipal Group Win Totana-IU, the new implementation of the Agricultural and Livestock Advisory Council of Totana, which has not met, in ordinary call, since April From the year 2013.
In addition, this citizen participation body has not been operational since September 2012, as its statutes were officially modified.
It was then that his call was mandated on an ordinary basis, with a periodicity of once a semester;
while the labor commissions promoted (irrigation water, fruits and vegetables, livestock and hunting) would be held when deemed appropriate depending on the needs.
The plenary agreement now establishes to resume and reactivate the meetings of the Agrarian and Livestock Advisory Council, with the periodicity established in article five of the statutes of the Agrarian and Livestock Advisory Council of the year 2012.
In addition, it was approved to urge the bodies present at the general assembly of said body, including municipal groups with representation in the Totanero City Council, to appoint a representative person to attend said assemblies.
The Agrarian Advisory Council is an organ composed of the representatives of the unions, organizations and businessmen of the agriculture and livestock sector of the municipality of Totana.
This is constituted as an organ of promotion of the participation of the residents of the municipality of Totana in the field of agriculture and livestock, and having as an exclusive area of action this municipal term.
In the past, the Agrarian Municipal Council has been a fundamental tool of cooperation between the agents of the primary sector of the municipality and the local Administration.
Its implementation has contributed to promoting the importance of its activity in Totana, the work for the promotion of this sector and the contribution of new initiatives that have an impact on the improvement of agriculture and livestock in our municipality.
Very positive initiatives for the primary sector have started from the assemblies of this council, citing as an example the mixed surveillance groups in rural areas or the field fair among others, among others.
From the proposing party and the municipal Plenary, it is considered essential to put in place all those tools that serve to give oxygen to the primary sector in the totanero municipality, being the implementation of the Agricultural Advisory Council a key piece to achieve the close cooperation between farmers and farmers with the municipal institution and the local Administration.
