The Department of Sports reports that last Friday, January 24, took place in Sangonera La Seca, the first regional day of School Sports Chess, organized by the General Directorate of Sports of the Region of Murcia, where the schools Santiago and Reina participated Sofia, in the fry category;
and the IES Prado Mayor, in the open category.
In total, 14 totaneros schoolchildren participated in this school competition, where after five games, it is worth highlighting the good results of the Santiago School in the juvenile category, provisionally placing three of its students among the top ten classified, specifically Jaime Cánovas Crespo, in second place;
Fermín García Tudela, fourth;
and Joel Encalada Andreo, in seventh place.
And with respect to the open category, Sergio Tudela Costa (IES Prado Mayor) stood out as the first classified totanero, specifically in the twenty-fourth position.
The Regional School Sports Chess Final will take place on February 14, also in Sangonera La Seca, where the remaining five games that will be decided by regional champions in the different categories will be played.
